Stickies is a menu-bar app for sticky notes. Pin a note and it floats on your desktop. Unpin it and it waits at the right edge of the screen as a thin strip of color.
Drag a sticky by its title bar. Throw it at the right edge to stash it, then hover the edge to peek.
Two places for a note
A pinned sticky is its own window on the desktop. It stays where you put it until you unpin it.
Unpin a sticky and it moves to the right edge of the screen, where only a sliver of its color shows.
Hover a sliver and that one card slides out far enough to read. Click it to open it. Move away and it slides back.
Stickies has no Dock icon. Click its note icon in the menu bar to write a new sticky or open a recent one.
Press ⌘⇧N wherever you are to start a new sticky without switching windows.
A small toolbar formats the text, and each sticky is saved as Markdown.
Stickies sync between your Macs through your own private iCloud database. There is no account to make and no server of ours in the middle.
